2 months

Well.... I have been a little busy around here.  I haven't been keeping up on your updates like I should.   You turned 2 months old on July 27.
You are starting to sit (with assistance) and has grown so much.  At your 2 month checkup, which involved getting three shots (you didn't like that at all) we found out that you weigh 10 pounds 12 ounces, which is the same as your 6 week checkup and you are now 22 3/4 inches long.  Both of which are in the 50th percentile.

This month has been so fun for all of us!  You have started to smile.  Usually you like to play with mom and dad in the morning and in the evenings.  During our play times you smile a lot and you like making the "g" sound.  You will say it and then we will say it back to you and your eyes get so wide and you smile really big.  This has been so much fun!

You have been playing a lot on your play mat and we have you in your undies a lot because it has been a super hot summer.  On August 2, 2011 it was the hottest it has been in 75 years..... 112 degrees.  You and I stayed inside all day.  Other than the hottest day, it has been a hot summer with over 20 days (not in a row because some days would be 99 degrees) were over 100 degrees.  So as much as you like to go outside, we have had to stay inside more than you would like.  We got out side early in the morning and late at night.

You really like looking out the window and looking at lights.  You think ceiling fans are the COOLEST!  You have started sitting in your swing, but you aren't sure about it yet.  Towards the end of July and early August you have been sleeping all through the night :)  Which makes mom very HAPPY!  You usually take a bath around 8pm have a bottle and then will go to sleep around 9pm to 9:30pm.  Then you sleep through the night and you don't wake up till 5AM.  Some nights you will wake up around 2AM or 3AM but then will sleep till 7AM.  You are drinking about 8-12 4 oz bottles a day.  Some days, you will drink a lot more than that and will hardly take any naps during the day.  Then a couple of days later you will sleep most of the day.  Your body is still trying to get use to everything.  When we put you in your crib you scoot with your feet, while laying on your back, to the end of the crib and snuggle next to the side of the crib.

We love you so very much!!  Love mom and dad

6 week check up

At 6 weeks you now weigh 10lbs 12oz and you are 21inches long! You are not shy when it comes to food :)  This week also marks the first time you slept through the whole night.  Your night routine is as follows: 7:00pm bath and getting ready for bed, followed by a bottle where you usually fall asleep on your own.  On average you fall asleep by 8:00-8:30.  Some nights though you are super awake and won't go to sleep till 9:00-9:30.  I usually go to bed shortly after you do and Dad checks on you before he goes to bed.  He checks your diaper and you are usually a little hungry as well. So this week you have been sleeping from 11:00pm till 5:30am.... this makes me so happy!  So far you have done this two nights in a row.  You are growing so much and your dad and I really like watching how you change and all you are learning each day!

1 month old

You have grown so much this month!  You are getting stronger and when we having tummy time you are able to lift you head up for a couple of seconds!  You are also moving a lot, kicking your legs and punching your arms.  You are starting to stay awake longer in between eating and falling back asleep.  You are also starting to track more with you eyes.  You still like to be held when you are tired and I have learned that I can trick you by putting you into the sling and carrying you around.  You really like dancing to the radio with dad and you enjoy when someone reads to you.  You are a pro eating from a bottle and eat in between 2 to 4 oz at a time.  You are sleeping 3 hours at a time at night.  On your one month birthday we started cloth diapers and you seem to like them.  We are looking forward to seeing what you will do this next month!

Last wee we had newborn pictures taken from a good friend.  This is one of the pictures.  I will put up more when we get them.  You were not happy about getting your picture taken and cried most of the time.  We did get a few good pictures though.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!
This is the first picture of you and your dad.  For Father's Day you got your dad a print of your hand and foot.  You were not very happy about having paint on your hand and foot.  Luckily, Grandma Brady and Uncle Grant were there to help.  We also did a plaster of your hand print and it is super cute because you are doing a Spock hand.  We can't wait to compare it when you get older.  You had fun hanging out with your dad today.  We were lucky enough to have Nana and Papa Stucky and cousin Karly visiting.  They came down to celebrate Father's Day but also because your Dad gave the sermon today at church.  He did a great job!  You were very proud.... even though you were asleep the whole time :)

Second Week

Second week was not as eventful as your first week of life!  We had your two week check up and you now weigh 7 pounds 7 oz and you are now 20 inches long.  You are sleeping 3 hours at a time at night and you take two naps in the morning and 3 naps in the afternoon.  Dad and I try to keep you awake from 7pm to 9pm so that you will sleep until 1:00am.  This sometimes works :)  Dad and I love you a lot!  It has been fun getting to know you and what all your different cries and squeals mean.  We are still learning through.

Saturday May 28th: Visitors: Ellen, Lilly, Grace, Grandma Brady, Nana and Papa Stucky, Jennifer, Bobby and Crystal, and Brooks Family.

Sunday May 29th: We left the hospital at noon and was home around 1:00pm.  On the way home we drove through the town of Reading to see the tornado damage.  That afternoon we had some very special visitors.  Aunt Betty and Great Grandma Lena came to visit.  We were very happy that Great Grandma made the trip!

Monday, May 30th: The Brady family came down for a cookout!  Papa Bob, Grandma Brady (haven't found a cool name for her yet) Uncle Corbin.  Betty and Mark also came down to partake in the delicious food!  We also skyped with Uncle Grant.  Lena got to experience her first Bob's Burger.  She really enjoyed it!  We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends :)

Tuesday, May 31st: Grandma Brady came down and Lena and I went to Emporia for a nursing class.  It went well.  We also made our first trip to Walmart, it went very well!

Wednesday, June 1st: Grandma Brady spent the night and I went to get a haircut.  All the ladies in the hair salon feel in love with Lena.  That afternoon we went to Emporia to visit with Laramee, Raelee, Pattie and Larry.  Sadly, everyone was in town for a funeral of our friend Beau Wallace.  Dustin attended the funeral and afterwards we all met for lunch.

Thursday, June 2nd: Happy 4th year of marriage!  We celebrated by taking naps and hanging out with Lena.

Friday, June 3rd: Made a trip to Salina for a wedding.  Dustin was in the wedding and Lena and I got to hang out with Nana and Papa Stucky.  We were back in time for church on Sunday.

Call us crazy but I am looking forward to this next week.  I am looking forward to making a routine and soaking up as much time with Lena as possible!

What a crazy couple of days

Saturday, May 21: Sever weather was the main theme of the day.  This was the day of the tornadoes.  There were tornadoes spotted in Topeka then another line came through the Emporia area destroying the town of Reading.  We were in our basement for 2 and 1/2 hours and 1 and 1/2 of them were spent with the power out.  Luckily we had our flashlights and weather radio.  The radio informed us that there were funnel clouds spotted 4 miles away from our house.  So scary for sure!  Our power did not come back on till 7:00am Sunday morning.  At our house we had dime size hail and with all the rain the ditch in front of our house was flooded into the highway to the yellow line.  During all the excitement I thought my water had broke.  When the storms left we made the trip to Emporia through rain and possible tornadoes around the area.  Contractions started to get stronger as we went.  Made it to the hospital and my water had not broke.... just got the pee scared out of me :)  It was good we went in to get it checked though.

Tuesday, May 24: More sever weather was in the area and my contractions were getting stronger and were only 6 minutes apart.  We made the choice to go ahead and head to Emporia just in case because there was a bad line of storms coming through with possible large hail and tornadoes.  We made it to the hospital and waited in the waiting room for 2 hours, our choice, to see if the contractions got stronger..... they did!  We were so excited!  We got checked in and we got hooked up showing that the contractions were strong and 6 to 5 minutes apart.  However, they were not making any movement in the south.  We walked for an hour... still no movement in the south.  So we went home.

Wednesday, May 25: Doctors apt.  Little girl is doing very well and we found out that we have some complications that are keeping her from coming out on her own.  So we will be induced on Friday.  We are super excited to meet her and will be praying everything goes well!

39 weeks

It is hard to believe that I have been pregnant for 39 weeks.  There have been many ups and downs along the way for sure!  Right now I am in a funk of being really really depressed because I just want to meet her and really really happy because I know it could happen any day now.  We have another doctors apt. on Friday so we will see what he has to say.  The next three days there is sever thunderstorms in the forecast.... sounds like a perfect time to have a baby :)

End of April

So the end of April has come and gone.  I was not very motivated at the end of the month.  SORRY!
We have had two baby showers so far and we have defiantly been showered with gifts.  We feel very blessed to have wonderful family and co-workers.
Our first shower was at the Stucky's household and it was a couples shower.  What a great idea!  It was wonderful seeing everyone.
The second shower was at the Elementary School and everyone at school is super excited to meet our little lady.  Our little lady has more clothes than I do and she will be more fashionable than me too :)

Here is a picture for 36 Weeks.

37 Weeks..... will we have her this week?

We have her room ready, we have our bags packed, we have the car seat in the car ready to go...... now we wait

Spring Break

What a great spring break!  Started the first weekend out in Salina visiting the in-laws for the annual Bull and Female sale.  It was a good auction and it was fun hanging out with all the different family members that attended.  Sunday, was spent hanging out with Dustin immediate family.  The day was beautiful and Dustin even got a sunburn!  We really enjoyed our time out on the farm.

On Monday, my brother came down and helped Dustin move furniture and lift heavier items in preparation of the baby arriving.  There was a lot of laughing and a lot of discussion on where to put furniture.  I then headed up to the city with my brother and spent the rest of the week hanging out with my parents and two of my brothers.  It was nice having time to relax, take naps, and buy all those important things that are needed for the hospital.  Friday I came back and will spend the rest of the weekend with the hubby, which is much needed!  It is suppose to snow and sleet today.... so an odd way to end spring break.

Only 8 more weeks to go..... for school and my little girls arrival!

Happy St. Patties Day!

30 weeks

We had a doctors apt. today and our little girl is 3lb 7oz.  She is growing up.... which is causing me to get bigger....  I think the getting bigger part is hard to get use to.  Just when I think I can't get any bigger I do.  But it is all for a good cause because we want a healthy little girl when she is born.

Walk KS started on Sunday and Dustin has been a real trooper!  Every other day Dustin and I walk at least 3 miles and then we do some free weights.  I would like to step it up to everyday.... however the day after walking my energy level is low.  But so far this week we have 12 miles which I think is super awesome!

What a day!

Today is the day that I have felt her move the most!  Anytime I would sit down she would be kicking or moving from side to side.  What a weird feeling.... sure I have felt the kicks but the moving part.... not as much.  I can tell she is getting bigger and stronger!  And today was defiantly the most active I have been able to feel her.  I have to admit it was distracting during the day.  All I really wanted to do was to watch my stomach and try to figure out where she was, what body part was moving and try to figure out what she would do next.  It has been a very exciting and exhausting day for sure!

-Things that are getting hard to do:
--paint my toenails... luckily Dustin is helping me out with that.... but I have to wait till he is ready... I don't like waiting :)
--bending over to pick something up
--cleaning
--putting on socks
--putting on pants... it is hard to keep my balance sometimes

Tomorrow we have our birthing class!  I wonder what kinds of things we will learn?!?

28th Week

Well this is the start of the 28th week..... and I have gotten bigger!  This Oregon State shirt use to be too big on me.   Dustin and I have been going on a lot of walks when it is nice outside.  We even took the dogs out one night.... that was an adventure!

Girls Weekend

This weekend my mom came to visit!  She helped me make curtains for the baby Stuckys room and helped me organize some of it.  The room is still a work in progress but I like how it is turning out so far!  Friday night, it was just my mom and I.  We couldn't remember the last night it was just the two of us!  On Saturday we spend most of the day working on different sewing projects and Saturday night two of my Aunts and a cousin stopped by to play cards.  Sunday was spent hanging out and we had a suprise guest.... one of my uncles.  Sunday was spent playing Pitch and telling stories.  Overall it was a great weekend!

Here are some pictures of baby Stuckys room so far.
